1. Who we are
company name, address, country, is responsible for your personal data in Manward. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Your account: your email address and the name you give us. If you sign in with Google, the name and email Google shares.
- Your conversations: what you write and say to Manward, and its replies. Voice calls are turned into text; we don’t keep the recording. Temporary chats are kept only while they’re open.
- Your memory: the notes Manward saves, like your goals, what you’ve agreed to try and how you like it to talk. Every note is on your Memory page.
- Your answers when you start: the topics you pick, how Manward should talk to you and what you want to change.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card. We receive your plan, the dates, the card’s last four digits and its country.
- Emails: whether our emails reach you, and whether you subscribe to the Sunday Letter.
- Technical data: your device and browser, your rough location from your IP address (to show the right prices) and error logs.
- Visits and a few steps: on the website, which pages are visited and what’s clicked, counted without cookies. In the app, a few steps such as signing in and starting the free trial. Never what you write.
3. Private topics
You may tell Manward about your mood, your health, your relationships or other private things. We treat all of it as sensitive: it’s used only to reply to you and to remember what matters to you, never for ads or anything else. Nobody at Manward reads your conversations, except to fix a problem you report to us.
4. How we use it
- To run Manward: reply to you, remember what matters and keep your conversations.
- To take payments and send the emails you need: your sign-in code, the trial reminder and receipts.
- To send the Sunday Letter, only if you subscribe.
- To keep Manward safe and working: stopping abuse and fixing errors.
- To improve Manward: we count website visits and a few steps in the app, without cookies, and never by reading your conversations.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We don’t use your conversations to train AI models.
Under European data law, we rely on our contract with you (running Manward and payments), your consent (private topics and the Sunday Letter), our legitimate interest (safety, fixing errors and counting visits) and legal duties (payment records).
5. Who helps us run Manward
A few companies process data for us. Each gets only what it needs, and only to do that job:
- AI provider writes Manward’s replies.
- voice provider turns voice calls into text and replies into speech.
- Supabase stores your account and data, and handles sign-in.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Resend sends our emails.
- PostHog, hosted in the EU, counts website visits and a few steps in the app.
- hosting provider runs the website and the app.
Some of them are outside the EU. When data leaves the EU, it’s protected by the EU’s standard contractual clauses or an equal safeguard. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Conversations and memory: until you delete them or your account.
- Temporary chats: never listed or added to memory, and deleted when you leave, or within 24 hours at the latest.
- Anything you delete disappears from Manward at once and from our backups within 30 days.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires.
7. Your rights
You can see your data, correct it, download it, delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time.
Most of it you can do yourself: on your Memory page (see, change, delete or download what Manward remembers) and in Settings → Your data (delete conversations, memory or your account). For anything else, write to [email protected] and we’ll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
8. Cookies
Manward uses only the cookies it needs: to keep you signed in and to remember settings like dark mode. We count visits without cookies, and there are no advertising cookies.
9. Security
Your data is encrypted when it travels and when it’s stored. Only a few people at Manward can reach it, and only to fix a problem.
10. Age
Manward is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll email you before the change applies.
12. Contact
Write to [email protected], or to company name, address.
